This Week's Denison Farm CSA Share

CSA Produce for This Week (and prior weeks)

Week 2 (Wednesday, June 3)

scallions

Greetings CSA Members,

Just as Spring unfolds and blossoms into summer, the CSA season begins with delicate greens, tender lettuce leaves, and sweet berries, growing in weight and variety throughout the five months of the CSA. Each week we fill your box with the bounty of what is in season.

The CSA is a cumulative and full season adventure. Each year, I marvel at what the earth generously provides throughout the growing period - even when the temperatures fluctuate from the upper 30s to the low 90s in barely a week! I appreciate knowing that vegetables have their special time for maturity – some only one time per season (i.e. Strawberries and Melons) while others, started in the greenhouse are then transplanted weekly into the field (i.e. lettuce and herbs).

When the final box is packed in late October, I hope that you will also take pleasure in the seasonality, the diversity and the gifts that emerge from the well-tended and stewarded earth here at Denison Farm. Please take good care and enjoy your box this week.

Wishing you the Best - Justine

*Please note that either last week or this week, you received/will receive Broccolini in your CSA box! Just a side note - the variety is called Happy Rich!

Just a Few Notes:

  • Remember to take a photo of the list to bring home with you for when you unpack your weekly share!

  • The fruit share will begin later in the season, and those members will get an email with updates at that time.

  • Please have a neighbor or friend pick up your share if you cannot.
  • Please be responsible for your payments/installments.
  • Please return and flatten the boxes and leave in a neat pile from week to week.
